Cape Tribulation & Daintree Wilderness

Cape Tribulation is at the end of the sealed road, 35 kilometers north of the Daintree River Ferry. North of Cape Tribulation has the Bloomfield Track which continues to Cook town. It is suitable for four wheel drive only.  The rainforest can be discovered by self-guided trails, guided walks, horse rides. The reef can be visited for a half day, or you can kayak in the coastline of sea and see where the rainforest congregates the reef. Cape Tribulation has two interpretive walks - Dubuji Boardwalk which is a 1.8 km boardwalk through the forest and mangroves and Maardja Botanical Walk which is a walkway and pathway through the high value Daintree coastal rainforest.

The Daintree is the oldest tropical rainforest in the globe. The World Heritage-listed Daintree Rainforest is so attractive that its ancient ferns, emerald green vines and lush canopy offered as inspiration for the movie Avatar. Here you can trek through jungle and discover plants and animals found nowhere else on the planet. Take to the air on the trees through a zip-line for a bird’s-eye view. Sail along the winding waterways of the Daintree River looking for saltwater crocodiles. This ecologically exclusive rainforest is home to the most extensive range of rare plants and animals on earth and all are found within an area of approximately 1200 square kilometers.
